INTO ZHONGGUI SONA

Development History

Zhonggui Sona (Xiamen) New Energy Co., Ltd. was established in the Xiamen Torch Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone on May 27, 2010 as a privately run technology firm specializing in the research, manufacturing and sale of solar cells and modules, as well as in photovoltaic (PV) power station construction.

Sona makes use of world-class fully automated facilities and equipment employing a team of technical, executive and sales experts with a wealth of experience in the PV field. We work closely with the largest global suppliers of polycrystalline silicon solar cells and renowned solar energy research institutions, and we use the latest solar cell production technology. Through effective control over raw material procurement, advanced production management and a rigorous system of quality control, Sona can manufacture efficient, reliable photovoltaic products at a low cost to suit the needs of the domestic and international PV energy market.

Sona works in close cooperation with German firm Centrotherm as well as the electrical engineering department of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The exceptional advantages provided by the natural environment, geography and location of Xiamen, coupled with our comprehensive talent reserve and talent development schemes as well as large-scale investment, mean that Sona is set to become the centre for research and development of photovoltaic technology in southeast China.

Beginning in 2015, Sona embarked on a 5-year, 4-stage plan in which it ultimately aims to reach an annual production capacity of 2.5 GW in vertically integrated PV products .This will see the company become one of the biggest alternative energy producers in the Western Taiwan Straits Economic Zone.

The stage-one project, a production line of solar cells with an annual output of 100MW and a production line of solar module with an annual output of 400MW, has now been in production for some time. The stage-2 project was completed recently at the end of 2018, bringing Sona’s output on its solar cell production line up to 600MW and adding a 600MW solar module production line.
